I recently picked up a set of Ping ISI-K irons that were built in 1996.
Ping's web site says the ISI
can be bent 4* but add this note:
Notes: As indicated in the chart above, the amount of adjustability for any
iron is primarily determined by
the metal and its age. Another important factor is the number of adjustments
that have been made to the set in the past.
I am sure these have not been adjusted in the past so I'm not too concerned
about that aspect but the age
has me wondering. The set was built as a red dot (1* flat) but over the
years they have flattened
between .2 and 1* (assuming they were at target * at some point) The lofts
are anywhere from
OK to 1.2* strong as well.
Any precautions or tips on bending this 9 year old steel ?
I hit the 7 iron today which was my first experience with the JZ shaft.
Kinda like it. I was afraid the stiff
(I play DGSLR's @ D4) was going to feel boardy and heavy. Not the case. I
really didn't notice the C-7
swing weight either. So much for my feel- but they sure are easy to hit.
Ugly But........ or is that ...Butt Ugly
Does T. Temper make this shaft for Ping ?

Steve
