Charlie,

Appreciate the information. I'm pretty careful with the lies on my irons when I build a set, but I didn't make a set of hybrids for me. And, I just eyeballed the squareness of the Wishon 2-iron I made for me....at 5' 9" in my golf shoes, I'm just about a perfect "standard club length" for a flat lie. Next one I make, I'll take your advice, do some dynamic tests, adjust the length of the shaft slightly until scuffs are dead on center and see what happens.

The couple of full sets of hybrids I made (Air Lifts from DT), or tried (HC Iron/woods from DC), were for ladies. So far I hear the two ladies are hitting the Air Lifts well.  I tried the one lady's Air Lift 6-iron with a low A-flex shaft and hit it very solidly, but shorter than my 6-iron by a full club. I guess a lot of my problem with hybrids is just confidence...I know I can hit my 5W on the green at 190-200 yards. I'm pretty sure I can do it with the 2-iron and I have a lot of doubts looking at a hybrid in front of me. :-) I practiced with the Wishon 2-iron hybrid quite a bit and hit some really good shots with it, but also some dogs. My old Cydonia 5W is more consistent. Played well with it today...to 4' against a slight breeze on a 180 yard uphill par-3 with raised 3-level green, pin on middle level behind a trap. Rolled in the deuce for a skin. In fact, was pretty consistent on all my shots today. Bladed two chips on the front which cost me two shots, missed 2 birds under 6' and had 2 three-putt greens on the back and still had a 2-over 74.

Incidentally, I really like the NBP to COG alignment on my irons...improved the accuracy of my wedges in particular quite a bit...even with filament wound shafts, which was surprising to me. Have you tried this alignment yet?

My experience with hybrids for my customers is with the lie angles for comfort and solidness of the hit. Unfortunately unless you have a bending machine that will allow adjustments of these clubs you are at a distinct disadvantage. On the Champions Tour they have a specific fixture for bending these clubs to the players specs and this was an eye opener for me.
