John,

It's great to be 7 years old with a dad that makes clubs. I was 7 in 1941
and did have a dad who made my clubs. Played my first 18 holes on the
Overlook Golf Course near Neffsville, PA at 7 years old with my dad. Still
vaguely remember that day and the many days and years playing with my dad
after that first round...even playing in a club championship finals as
opponents. He was my favorite player when I was his caddie, my favorite
partner in weekend foursomes, father-sons and member-guests, and my favorite
opponent since he always made me try to play better than I could. I hope
your son can enjoy being 7 on a cool, sunny day and walking around the
course with his dad like I did. I hope you both have the 53 years I had
playing with my dad. I can't imagine there is any sport that brings a father
and son together like golf. Happy birthday to the both of you.

Bernie
