Here's some marketing genius for ya;
Titleist is marketing the "New" DT Roll and DT Carry balls. The "Carry"
has larger and fewer dimples than the "Roll". Line them up side by side
with the ProVI and the ProVIx. The "Carry" and the ProVIx are virtually
identical. Same for the "Roll" and the ProVI.
I've played all of them. I live in a location - 200 yards out from the
tee on the left side of a dogleg right fairway, where I get so many
balls per month that in 10 years I've not bought one. I get all the top
brands, mostly Pro V's, Callaway's, Nike's, Bridgestone's, and lately DT
Roll and DT Carry balls. I've hit them all with my pitiful lunge, and ya
know what guy's? There ain't a dime's worth of difference among them for
a decrepit 10 handicapper.
Hell, if I had to buy balls I'd be buying LOCO, Top Rocks, Noodles, and
anything at all from Costco (they have a 24 pack of Titleist's for
$19.95). Still more than a Top Rock, but hey, it's a TITLEIST!
