I slit shaft tips with the thinnest blade Dremel cutter I could find. It works but like Callaway does, you have to shove a plug in the tip to keep it from collapsing. With Pings you don't have to do the Callaway 3/4" to 1" slit. I haven't done a Ping for a while but I vaguely recall a slit about 1/2" or so. I found that just 2 slits 180 degrees apart was plenty
