If you have reshafted a Callaway bore through you would have noticed a plug
in the tip of the slit tip shaft. The plug is bashed into the split tip to
expand the tip against the hosel wall to insure a firm fit. You do the same
thing in a Ping or other taper tip blind bore taper tip hosel. Slit the
tip, put a plug in the tip (you have to experiment with the diameter to get
the correct size, and glue it in.
