Just curious, why do you want to initial them? If it's identification
should you lose them it's much easier to buy labels that you apply to the
shaft which have your name, address, phone and email address. Stamping them
will only reduce their value should you ever want to sell them.

Arnie,
Great stuff. However, you forgot the key piece of advice.

Here's how:

1. club head must rest on a solid surface.
2.:helper holds clubhead steady by the shaft.
3.set stamp on surface holding with one hand.
4.HERE IS THE SECRET - one solid strike with a heavy hammer on the stamp.
NO TAP TAP TAP. Multiple hits will cause double or triple shallow stamp
results.

Practice on a scrap piece of steel.

Subject: ShopTalk: Stamping Irons

Has anyone had good luck stamping forged irons?

I have a set of Miuras going in for loft lie check and I was going to
whack and paint fill some initials into them before they go, but wanted to get
some advice from here before I went too wild.

Any input you all have would be great.

Thanks!
Steve
