I have to admit I hadn't observed that. I have a box running all the time anyway running mail, Azureus, dns, dhcp, etc, etc, so I've recently ditched the router and connected directly with a second nic and a Netgear DM111P modem - and of course Shorewall. Should you choose the DM111P, be aware that the firmware in shipping units, and the update on their website, has a problem with IPSEC VPNs - so the units I've been setting up at work for a customer are running a Beta firmware they supplied. I did try a D-Link DSL-300T modem which is now quite old, but it kept falling over - I suspect it couldn't cope with the ARP table created by lots of Bittorrent peers connecting. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
