There is no single 'copy example' method.

There are three Sample configurations released with Shorewall; they are
desribed in the following articles:

- http://www.shorewall.net/standalone.htm
- http://www.shorewall.net/two-interface.htm
- http://www.shorewall.net/three-interface.htm

Each sample has specific characteristics but in general they all block
everything from the 'net' zone and they block nothing from the 'loc'
zone to the 'net' zone ('fw' zone to the 'net' zone in the case of the
standalone sample).

Individual distributions may also include 'example' configurations.

So without knowing which 'example' you copied and where the client and
server are in relationship to the firewall, we cannot know what the
'default' behavior of your firewall will be.
