Quoting [email protected]:

I'm trying to run a Mediatomb upnp media server in my dmz which is on
a separate subnet from my lan, and I thought I should be able to get
things running smoothly by following the guide from this page:
http://www.shorewall.net/UPnP.html

I was looking into this recently as well and basically determined that UPNP between subnets for media serving isn't possible (or is very difficult). What I ended up doing (I'm not now as I don't need it anymore), was to samba mount the media directory on the firewall box itself then had Mediatomb running on the box bound to the interface for the subnet I wanted to be able to see it. It worked fairly well the little I tested it (except for the glitches in mediatomb itself).

Thanks,

Seth Green
