Tap is not going to fix anything!
If you have a device on say 10.0.0.10 on your side that needs to talk to
a device on 10.0.0.10 on the remote side how on earth will it ever work?
Or even to say 10.0.0.100 which you don't have a duplicate of, where
does the arp packet go?
One vague possibility is bridging the two networks but you better make
certain the there is not a single duplicate ip address - now and into
the future!

Me? I'd bite the bullet and change your side to say 172.27.235.0/24.
That might leave you on safe ground!
