uninstall was *never* intended to work when DESTDIR was non-empty during

Again -- never intended that to work. DESTDIR assumes that you are going
to build a package then remove the tree that install.sh created.

It's actually pretty easy of you install from my tarballs. But that
isn't a good solution if you have many systems to install on.
