Hej,

after using Shotwell very intensively in the last days, I put together a
small list of "papercuts", which annoyed me a lot after a while. Further
I have some suggestions, some of them might have been already discussed...

Du you want me to open tickets for all these papercuts? :-)
I wanted to wait for a possible discussion...

    * After deleting/renaming an event/tag, the sidebar jumps to the
beginning and you have to scroll down again.
    * it is impossible to mark mutliple pictures with "ctrl"+"arrow
keys" and "space" like in the most common file managers.
    * the tags are shown nowhere in the single-picture-view.
    * Sometimes there is an issue with scrolling - unfortunately I can't
really say in which situations you can reproduce that behaviour -
but it is very annoying. If you marked a picture and then scroll
down, sometimes it just jumps back to the marked picture or a bit
      below.
    * on adding tags to a picture, the suggestion of existing tags
      doesn't work for non-standard characters like "ö"
    * shotwell sometimes freezes without any reason for about 30sec,
after that normal work is possible. Some as above: I have no idea
how to reproduce that. Suggestions how I could see what is
      happening in this moment?
    * Maybe generating bigger thumbnails for the "event-picture", the
resolution seems to be not enough, in some of the event pictures I
      can see pixels.
    * Deleting pictures out of the trash seems not to work on
NTFS-partitons, only the trash is emptied, so the user assumes,
that the files are gone - but they are still stored in their
      original place.

Suggestions:

    * After now using more than a hundred different tags for now 5500
imported pictures it's getting really crowded in the sidebar. So I
suggest to put up some categories for tags, just easy ones like
"persons", "places" and so on. But we had that already, as I see
      in this moment...)
    * It is impossible to adjust, which EXIF-data is shown in the lower
left corner. This could be an option, so no "easy user" will be
disturbed but still the "power user" has the posibility...
    * An option for showing only photos with a special rating (for
"rejected" as an example...) or even "** or below". In some cases
      this might be very useful...

Greetings,
Simon
