Hi Paul! I'm glad you like Shotwell. The import form F-Spot handles favourites by translating F-Spot favs to a 5-star rating in Shotwell. There is currently no way to select all 5-star pictures but the ability to filter against any meta-data (including rating) is on the roadmap as it's an often requested feature: http://trac.yorba.org/ticket/1587
