In 0.9, will we be able to filter on a range of Stars, like 3 or 4
stars, but not 0, 1, 2, and 5?
Something F-Spot has, which works very well for me...
Putting stars on all photos, and then later selecting all 3 and 4 stars,
to see if any one should be 5 stars for instance.

0.9 will probably not include the ability to filter on a star range as
you've suggested. That will come as part of complex metadata searches
(http://trac.yorba.org/ticket/1587), which are a strong candidate for
0.10 this summer.
