Hi Piergiogio,

The reason for the totem dependency is to produce thumbnails for
video. Ticket 3439 (http://trac.yorba.org/ticket/3439) explains the
rationale and what would need to be done to remove the dependency and
revert to gstreamer for thumbnails.
