Worrying... I just reproduced this (ish). I imported a number of photos and videos from an SD card (using. USB mass storage card reader), did import all and thankfully didn't delete the originals.
I edited (cropped, red eye) a few photos. Added some tags. Even printed a few. I exited Shotwell rebooted and went back in. The thumbnails started disappearing as Shotwell rescanned my pictures folder. When I looked in the file system the files are now all zero length! This is probably going to be hard to reproduce, but being the second "corruption" issue in a week I'm more than a little worried.
