This reminds me of an important point I've been meaning to bring up...

Users expect the button in the bottom right of a window to be the 'safe'
choice.

In t his case, either "cancel" or "copy photos" would be acceptable
because users understand both those concepts.

Most users dont have a clue what "import in place" means (My mum uses
shotwell, and is the canonial example of the clueless user).

This "Import in place" is a very VERY dangerous choice for that
position, since ti will LOOK like it worked - right up until she deletes
the originals...
