Again, I reproduced it this morning with shotwell 0.11.
I did a first run with logging [shotwell.log] and then it halted so I
killed the app. Then I restarted shotwell with logging [shotwell1.log]
and noticed that the Auto-import was starting before I did anything. So
I thought that might have been the problem. I went to preferences to
turn off auto-importing. Nothing was there to disable it. But I found an
option through gconf-editor and disabled it. So I closed shotwell and
restarted it with logging [shotwell2.log]. I imported my photos correctly.
Interestingly whenever I killed shotwell while it was importing the
photos RAW+JPEG that were imported until the app is killed show up
separately.
I attach the logs however here are some interesting things:
[shotwell.log]:
L 4850 2011-09-01 11:16:20 [WRN] ImportPage.vala:1392: Unable to fetch
metadata for /DCIM/100D5000/DSC_0001.NEF: [-1] Error retrieving file
object for /DCIM/100D5000/DSC_0001.NEF: Unspecified error
This is strange. What kind of path is that. The actual path should be
/media/4FC5-8E2D/DCIM/...
First run halts and I killed it at 11:23:45 (closed to the end of the log).
[shotwell1.log]:
L 8234 2011-09-01 11:33:27 [CRT] Thumbnail.vala:325: Unable to fetch
low-quality thumbnail for DataView DSC_0126.NEF [DataSource [22034]
/home/pmatos/Pictures/2011/08/31/DSC_0126.NEF] (scale: 160): Failed to
open file
'/home/pmatos/.shotwell/thumbs/thumbs128/thumb0000000000005612.jpg': No
such file or directory
Can't understand what's the problem here. Should check if file exists
once I get back home but if it doesn't exist then I need to understand
why it was not created to start with.
How does the creation of thumbnails work? I can imagine that a thread is
spawned to create the thumbnail and once that is done, an event is
received and the thumbnail is displayed. Is it something like this?
Cheers,
