O.K., I've found the solution, and it's not shotwell's fault: In f-spot, some
of my tags were containing slashes (e.g. House/Garden or Nature/Landscape).
Since shotwell uses slashes to produce a tag hierarchy, it cannot handle this.
After changing the respective tags, shotwell now is importing flawlessly.
Change at last!!!
