Sorry, I did not make myself clear: f-spot has a hierarchical tag lists, but writes only 'flat' tags, in the Xmp:Subject field, in a comma separated list. At the moment, when you import from f-spot in shotwell, shotwell gets correctly the tags hierarchy, but then it reads the tags from the photos -- if you had them written in the files metadata -- and for every tag that is not in the top-level in the f-spot hierarchy, shotwell creates a *new* root-level tag, duplicating the one already in the tags tree. I hope this is clear. Any way, we have already a ticket for that, #4051, and I was asking for news, because this bug renders -- for me and for people with tags into the photos metadata -- the import from f-spot impossible. On a partially unrelated note, until one cannot select multiple tags for moving them around the tree in shotwell, adjusting the tags tree after each import would be a PITA.
