To fix the
"GLib-GIO-Message: Using the 'memory' GSettings backend. Your settings
will not be saved or shared with other applications."
error on natty. Try installing the dconf libraries.
sudo aptitude install dconf-tools libdconf0 libdconf-dbus-1-0
For me this silenced the error, and allowed me to save settings.

The package was installed with root privileges, so the directory
/usr/share/GConf/gsetting exists (as does the file
/usr/share/GConf/gsetting/shotwell.convert).
Anything I need to be worried about? Thanks for a great piece of
software!
