Hi Jim,
I restored again from my image backup, which took me back to Shotwell
0.13 with no Shotwell 0.15 stuff on my system. Then I did this:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:yorba/ppa
sudo apt-get update
Since I was starting again from scratch, the above should have worked,
shouldn't it? But it didn't.
The Software Updater shows:
libgexiv2-1 (checked)
shotwell (not checked, and I couldn't check it)
I'm not sure what you mean by "removing the old packages and then adding
them again." Would that help in this situation? How do I do it?
Thanks,
Dominic

On Friday we fixed the packaging problem with libgexiv2 and Shotwell.
You shouldn't have to purge the PPA. I would recommend sudo apt-get
-f install and removing the old packages and then adding them again.

I think the Shotwell 0.15 ppa is broken, so I restored from
image backup and I'm back to 0.13. Now I'll just wait a while
and hope for the best. :-)
For future reference, if you want to remove a ppa then install
ppa-purge and sudo ppa-purge ppa:yorba/ppa should have taken you
back to where you started. Colin
Good to know. Thanks Colin.
