I think firstly we have to provide good environment for power users and geeks, to allow them to do environment for other people. If we will concentrate only on phone basics, then who will work on it? Basic users who only want to make phone calls, write smses and play mokomaze can't write nice, cool stuff. Of course in meantime we have to work on ugly bugs in phone functionality, and work on basics - but not only!
