M2c: the work should be divided in two parts:
1) patching illume to accept every external pluggable launcher, this
should be not hard, it may be disabling the default launcher,
launching the user preferred launcher at startup, and putting som
xatom to have it recognized by illume for the "home" button, avoid
closing and so on. As Vikas suggested this is already done for
keyboards.
2) making shr launcher one of the possible pluggable launchers, in
this case it may depends on framework and may be patched as many time
we need without bothering upstream.
If c_c agrees and want to patch illume it may think to implement
multiple dockwin support too :)
