The reason why it looks like bling bling is because it uses etk tree
(and etk by default ships with bling bling theme)
have a look at the illume settings (maybe have to load some modules
first to make it avalable) and re-enable thumbscroll if disabled.
happened to me once after an upgrade that i could not scroll. i just
loaded the necessary module in e settings. started e settings again and
re-enabled thumbscroll.
