Hi. These are impressions from the upgrade to SHR-unstable last night. I hope you are not offended by the length of the post. Order does not imply importance of issues, but just the sequence they appeared:
* Maybe I am a little slow. But to me, the default time-outs to enter the different sleep states are way too small. I set them to triple values. * mokonnect still can't find my wlan, even though iwlist can. I read in the archives, that I am not the only one. If it fails in many cases, I suggest kicking it until the issue is fixed. * Contacts: It is not possible to enter new fields --> no new contacts :-( * I like the ventura browser! Finally a browser that is not a microscopic version of the desktop browsers :-) * I liked the start/stop bar of illume much better than the buttons on the bottom of the screen with illume2. The buttons constantly consume precious screen estate. I'd happily trade the comfort of one tap close for this 64 pixel bar the app cannot use. * I miss the little icons that indicate gsm- and wlan-connectivity Are they going to return in later versions of illume2? * The contacts app does not read the sim card any more --> this clearly is a regression :-| Referring to a separate app to import and export is a PITA. Yes, I know, I am not the first to complain. And I will certainly not be the last. * The shut-down button presented after a push of the power button on the left of freerunner did not work. It just returned to the desktop. * usb terminal is not gracefully closed on shut-down. The ssh hangs unresponsive on the desktop and needs to be killed by force. I believe, this was better before the upgrade. * omnewrotate restarts on resume even if it was deliberately shut down before suspend. This means, I couldn't temporarily disable autorotation. * moocow graphic suffers from the illume2 buttons on the bottom of the screen * fatfingershell.sh still does not work. It still yields "No video mode large enough for 640x480" on the command lien and exits. * How do I set local dictionaries for illume2 ? There is no /usr/lib/enlightenment/modules/illume2/dicts It does not help if I create it and populate it with German.dict * Where do I put local (german) keyboards with illume2 ? * Sometimes the lock screen after resume contains remnants of the last application before suspend.
