No, I didn't try the CVS version yet, but I made some research on the problem
on the 1.38 version.
I tracked down the problem to "304 not modified" response, and changed the code
so that instead "304" shttpd allways returns "200" with the file content.
It shurely result in a heavier traffic, but the problem's gone and the traffic
is not an issue for me.
Unfortunately, I don't have enough time right now to dig deeper in the problem.
It is somewhere near the "304" response and as it seems it appears mostly/only
on windows with IE.

FYI, I can't reproduce that on linux and macos.
Will try on windows soon, when my windows laptop is back.
LCD screen blew up on my Vaio SZ2m right after
guarantee had expire. Do they have a timer on motherboard or something.
