Yes, we are now at an interesting point.
So, we do not have ANY SPC sources (and also ANY RESOURCE COMPILER and
DEBUGGER sources), and we must choose a compiler. This is very hard
question:
1)New compiler will come with it own SYSTEM, and may be RTL classes. So
we must do a great work to adopt the rest of Sibyl classes for it.
2)But the matter is that Sibyl was able to import Borland DELPHI (I was
trying to import Borland Delphi 5.0 projects and succeed) and I think
that this possibility is very actual, so we must choose a compiler, that
classes are compatible with Borland ones.
3)Sibyl classes themselves, that are coming with FP4 contains a lot of
errors, and thouse errors make Sibyl RAD tool to be very buggy and
unstable. If we mix unstable and buggy Sibyl classes with some other
(may be not so buggy, but who knows) SYSTEM and RTL - I think we will
get a pretty mixture, that will not work forever ;-))!
So, my proposition is to shake SPC owners to get original Sibyl compiler
sources. For now, when NETLABS take part in Free Sibyl project, may be,
SpeedSoft owners may come to negotiations easiely.
