Hi As it states it cannot find any compiler in your system. This is very basic in order to get anything going on your system. I suggest you read in to installation of compilers on the web. Your request is far to general to apply for this mailing list. And therefore, i suggest that you seek help elsewhere (where help is more abundant and is more specific to this, i would suggest the Ubuntu forum) It has nothing to do with the SIESTA code.
My advice is to read up on the following terms (remember that your distribution is ubuntu): gfortran, and installation thereof make and/or automake, and installation thereof LAPACK, BLAS, ScaLAPACK, and installation thereof Kind regards Nick 2011/9/28 sf kshp <[email protected]> > Hi Nick, > > At first thanks a lot for your help, I did it and it worked > > But some *new error* ocured... > > please see... > > > > with best wishes, > > Fatemeh > > > > f123@ubuntu:~$ cd siesta-3.1 > > f123@ubuntu:~/siesta-3.1$ cd intel > > f123@ubuntu:~/siesta-3.1/intel$ ls -l ../Src/configure > > -rw-r--r-- 1 f123 f123 261642 2011-08-26 07:16 ../Src/configure > > f123@ubuntu:~/siesta-3.1/intel$ chmod u+x ../Src/configure > > f123@ubuntu:~/siesta-3.1/intel$ ../Src/configure > > checking build system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu > > checking host system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu > > checking for xlf95... no > > checking for lf95... no > > checking for f95... no > > checking for fort... no > > checking for ifort... no > > checking for ifc... no > > checking for efc... no > > checking for pgf95... no > > checking for pathf90... no > > checking for gfortran... no > > checking for g95... no > > checking for f90... no > > checking for xlf90... no > > checking for pgf90... no > > checking for epcf90... no > > checking for g77... no > > checking for f77... no > > checking for xlf... no > > checking for frt... no > > checking for pgf77... no > > checking for fort77... no > > checking for fl32... no > > checking for af77... no > > checking for Fortran compiler default output file name... *configure: > error: Fortran compiler cannot create executables* > > See `config.log' for more details. > > > On Tue, Sep 27, 2011 at 1:35 AM, Nick Papior Andersen < > [email protected]> wrote: > > >> This is usually caused by permission specs on the configure file. >> >> Try do a: >> ls -l ../Src/configure >> This will show you several things of the executable.
