We shouldn't use this list to insult those of a different culture who may use greetings that we are not accustomed to, or have religious beliefs we don't share.

To the original poster: If you want help, you have to ask questions that can be answered in one email. If you're a total beginner, have a look at the tutorials (you find some links here: http://www.icmab.es/siesta-joomla/tutorials), try to understand what exactly you want to calculate and how, and if it doesn't work, ask concrete questions and if necessary include your input files.

To answer the question: the lattice constant of a slab is the same as in the bulk, unless you want to model actual thin films, which is unlikely.
