You guys must have missed all the posts about this in the past.
I've had the modem for about a month+ now and have been using it
with linux from the beginning. I helped Time Warner with the
Austin linux login client so I got it early.
I've also scripted lots of work arounds for fake staticity of the
ip. I assembled a package of linux tw cable goodies:

It might be a little old, but you can get it going...
