XFree86 Xserver for S3Virge card

In XFree86, there is an svga server that claims to be the appropriate
server for my S3Virge based card, but there is also a S3V server that is
for S3Virge cards.  Which should I be using?  Am I just confused?  Is
there a tradeoff of some sort involved?
