$@#%$^@ RH 5.1 netconf troubles

I don't know why, but I'm having a beast of time getting RH 5.1 to dial up
telesys.  I can do it by hand (log in using minicom, start up pppd), but I
can't for the life of me figure out the settings for netconf to make it
all nifty and automatic.  Any help would be appreciated.
