turn on the 'debug' option to pppd (in /etc/ppp/options) and check out
what that & chat send to your logfiles. probably /var/adm/messages or
/var/log/messages if you haven't changed syslog from the default config.
i believe that chat's messages will go under facility daemon if executed
with the -v flag (as should be present in my bits) and that would be
the first component to examine (login not working somehow). if you get
telesys up to the point of 'ppp default', then you need whatever comes
with the debug option. perhaps debug msgs won't be instantly enlightening
but you can post here if you dont grok what she's saying to you.
