Thanks for quick reply. I have installed Linux but am having problems with getting XFree86 server going. I can only get 320x200 resolution no matter what I do. I was using Xconfigurator to set it up, but with no luck. My video card is a Trident and am not sure what exactly is the type of my monitor. Could not knowing the exact make and model of my monitor be my problem? Thanks, Chaitanya ---christ <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > > try > > mount -t msdos /dev/fd0 /mnt > and your dos (filename.ext) files will be in /mnt > > you should also > umount /mnt > before you eject it (won't break if you don't, just might scramble the > floppy if you've written to it at all) > > you'll need to mount as root, altho if you plan to do this often (i do) > add this to your /etc/fstab: > > /dev/fd0 /mnt msdos noauto, user 0 0 > > > (meaning any user can mount it and will own the files, and it won't be > mounted on boot) > > HTH. > > PS, BTW, etc: i will be setting up dhcp myself for the first time in a while > tomorrow, so i can update the web page infos. any tips you think would be > useful to the masses would be appreciated...
