I have the latest rpm for ncftp installed (2.4.3-1), or at least I think
it's the latest, anyhow it doesn't give me that nice whit bar separating
the command line from the output. So when I type a command, it gets
printed over by the output, but as much os it as the output will
overwrite. I've removed and and re-installed it and it keeps happening.
Should I just get the source and compile form scratch?

Hmm. I'm running a 3.0 beta of NCFTP, and am not entirely sure what is
required for 2.4.3.

As was suggested, using the -V command line option would probably do
the trick. There is also a setting that changes the default behavior,
so you don't need the -V option each time. I can't remember the name
of this setting, though, but you may be able to find it by typing
either 'set' or 'show all' from within the client.

Good luck.
