I recently had a fun experience downgrading from glibc2.1 to glibc2 by hand on my redhat 5.2 box and... umm.. in the middle... pretty much everthing on my system was apparently dynamically linked, which I guess is a good thing in most cases, but in this case is bad. I finally got everything up and running again (with a little luck, and a lot of kicking), without rebooting, but, anyway thi leads me to my question: does anybody know of any distros where everything in /bin and /sbin (or at least a good subset thereof) is statically linked? I'd kind of like to avoid such an experience again. RHP -- Richard H.
