I don't know about UT, but UH used to be very tight fisted (until I put my
foot down on storing all that old crap (my space was being taken away but
not my charge to store the stuff, so I had to convince them)), I had about
20 old vt52 terminals and about 8 286 PCs.  They were just sitting in my
filing cabinets "because we might need them".

To get rid of them, I sent them to the offsite storage, which they cleaned
out once a year by holding a public auction.  They would palletize
everything and only take bids on whole pallets.
