Did you set the option in the kernel config for plug and play? If so, you
may want to turn it off. It looks to me like the kernel found you board
at IRQ 9 and barfed on that since something else already has that IRQ
registered. Since this stuff worked okay on RH 5.2, I would try turning
off the plug and play option in the kernel and try that. Just a quick
guess.
