A nice rainy memorial day here in Dallas.. I got bored and did it. :) All
good from my linux box (56K USR Sportster) to my mom's machine (56K Jaton).
Works with X1 or X3 - X3 just allows a few more errors codes - BUSY and NO
ANSWER that don't really matter for this kind of connection anyways.
So I'd recommend starting the link with the "real" modem - I'd hope the
laptop modem can at least do ATA. :)
