I don't know much about Samba, but from what I've read, I think Samba 2.1
is only available as *prerelease* code from CVS.  This code is still under
development, and I don't know how stable it is.  It can't be too bad
beacause *many* people are already using the CVS HEAD code to get the
(still incomplete) Primary Domain Controller functionality that will be
part of 2.1.

I haven't heard any plans of an official alpha or beta release of the 2.1
code.  I don't think it will happen for quite some time; therefore, if
2.0.x doesn't work for you, you'll have to use the code that under
development.
