Okay. that's wierd. anyways, the other way to do it is (under root) in a
shell type "ln -s /dev/ttySx /dev/modem" (this sets up a sybolic link
(like an alias in winxx) from the modems port)
Then in the network cfg program in the control-panel tell it to use
/dev/modem. or you could just tell netcfg (that's the name of the
network cfg program) to use /dev/ttySx and skip the previous step.
Again, the x is equal to one less than the # of the com port in DOS just
like it said in the window. The next step is to click on add interface
in netcfg etc. good luck.
