I made the mtx patches myself. Leonard Zubkoff never incorporated them
even though I sent him all the supporting documentation. There are
apparently some differences in certain SCSI commands between normal mtx
and Quantum's hardware. So I had to do some SCSI debugging and to read
the manual to figure out what the differences were.
The GNU tar problems we uncovered were not that important. There was a
bug where if a file was moved, restoring from an incremental backups
wouldn't be accurate.
The solution is to make absolute backups frequently.
