I am running rh6 on an k6-2/400 w/ diamond viper 330 video. Xconfig finds it as a riva board and uses the svga server. Every so often I will startx and the whole local machine locks up. No keyboard input, no mouse, screen goes blank, no ctl-alt-backsp, nothing. The only thing to do is telnet in and reboot. Has anyone ever seen anything close to this before? Usually even after I reboot the problem still exists. The only solution I have found is to re-install (now that's a solution isn't it.) Is there anyplace I can check for error messages? I tried logging startx but nothing out of the ordinary there. I am thinking it is only a problem with this particular video board because I installed an old trident 1meg board and it works fine.
