First - rh has updated pump that works with roadrunner - look in rh6 updates
or use rpmfind.

Second - if you got ip masqing going on - you may have some routing issues.
I use routed and things run good for me.

Third - try out the initscripts from rawhide - I'm using that and I although
it may be my imagination, things worked better afterwards.  I can verify that
pump renews its lease about every two hours.

Fourth - cable modem should go directly into one ethernet of your linux box.
Dont hook cable modem directly to hub.

Fifth - second ethernet comes out of box into hub.

Sixth - for ftp'ing make sure you got the ip_masq_ftp module loaded.
