> We tested out their stuff in-house, and got 100k transfers.
100kbytes/sec? 100kbits/sec? Is that the maximum speed? Is
there any indication of how the service degrades under the
shared usage? What is their plan for dealing with more users?
> Static IP. (they will reverse anything you want) No bandwidth
> 'inspection' (I can run my web server again)
Do they limit transfer rates per user? Do they limit total
throughput? What is their policy with regards to people who have
disproportionately large bandwidth usage? (this will kill everyone
else, especially on a share connection)
> And the price is damn good.
The cheapest prices are on par with the cheapest DSL offerings and
probably the cheapest cable modem offerings. But, the prices for
additional IPs goes up VERY fast. They don't even have a residential
price beyond 4 IPs. And the business rates don't look that special to
me. (they don't seem to say what their definition of business vs.
residential service is)
I'm not trying to knock nobell. It looks like a very interesting
service. But, their website is extremely uninformative. I'd want a
lot more information from them before I considered service with them.
I hope someone will post a more complete analysis of their service
later...
