hi all ... some time ago i realized a lot of email regarding rh 6 and rr. i
never read them b/c i did not have rh 6, but now i do have rh 6 and i am
having a problem with rr. basically, linux is able to get an ip from rr but
it appears that names cannot be resolved. i can telnet to places using their
ip address but not their names. i have my /etc/resolv.conf soft linked to
/etc/dhcpc/resolv.conf which is the same file as the one i used in rh 5.2
which in fact worked. can somebody tell me what else is wrong that needs to
be fixed? i get a : host name lookup failure : error message when i try to
telnet to, say havarti.cs.utexas.edu. using netscape i have a similar
problem which is hostname cannot be found or whatever the message is. please
help!!!
extra credit: i also have an aztech galaxy washington 16 sound card, and i
compiled the kernel to be able to use the sgalaxy module, but when i run
setup as root, i get a problem that says that mpu_io is an invalid
parameter. i think this value comes from the modules.conf file but i dont
know how to solve this problem. i think i have tried removing the mpu_io =
<value> tag field from the modules.conf file but that doesnt help. any
clues???
