if i recall correctly dhcpcd handles the replacement of /etc/resolv.conf for
you so you shouldn't have to deal with it.  that you are making that symlink
might possibly be the problem...did some documentation tell you to do so?
here is my /etc/resolv.conf, make resolv.conf a normal file and put this in it:
domain austin.rr.com
nameserver 24.93.35.64
nameserver 24.93.35.65
nameserver 24.93.35.32
nameserver 24.93.35.33
