Has anyone had any trouble with the SB16 PNP and RH6.0 (kernel 2.2)? Mine
is freezing constantly. I'd really like to use only linux, and MP3's are
the only thing keeping windoze on my hard drive.
WHen I play MP3's (or even WAV files have caused this problem) using
x11amp or mpg123 I get a HARD freeze and have to physically power down to
restart. I've had the same problem in single mode. I tried recompiling
my kernel and making sure I had only what I needed but no luck. I have
isapnp setup for the same settings as in windows, and I'velooked through
/proc to make sure everything matches up, and it does.
I even went as far as to take out my modem, and put in a different video card
but no luck. Only thing left is to try a different processor/MB except that
MP3's used to play fine (and still do in windows) but ever since I upgraded to
RH6 (including the new kernel, modutils, and the rest) I haven't been able to
enjoy listening to anything. Any ideas?
